The annual Commemoration for those who died in the Japanese submarine attack on Sydney Harbour in 1942 will take place at North Head on Friday May 31st.
The Choir leads the singing of five items accompanied by Manly Silver Band: The National Anthem; The Royal Anthem; The Song of Australia; I vow to thee my country; Land of hope and glory.
We assemble at 9.30am for sound test prior to the 10.00am start. The ceremony lasts around 75 minutes, including a speech by an identity with military connections, after which morning teas is served.
This is a great opportunity to promote the Choir whilst joining in a worthwhile community event. The more Choristers, the better the sound. There will be a sign-up list circulating at several rehearsals. Several regular attendees will be away this year, so please do consider joining in.
